I found a Funnel Web in the house....

I wanted to tell you about the other morning....usually the morning routine is that Paul gets up and goes to work while Vicki and I continue to snuggle. Vicki gets up about 7.00am and then goes and has a shower. Then she will get dressed, have some breakfast, do her hair (which involves a blowdryer) and thats my cue to go and sit by the back door. Vicki will then come and let me out and we go to the laundry for some breakfast and then she goes to work.

Well, the other morning, Vicki got out of the shower and found me sitting on the mat near the front door. Pretty unusual for me, because I am normally still snuggled up on the bed waiting for that hairdryer to start.
So Vicki stepped over me and continued on with her routine which was good. She stepped over me a couple of times and asked me what I was doing there but I was busy, so I ignored her.
Then Vicki wanted to give me breakfast so she opened the back door. Normally I would come running from wherever I was to get out to that laundry for some breakfast. So Vicki came over and picked me up to take me outside and what did she discover that I was hiding.....? Yep, have a look below...a Funnel Web Spider!

So Vicki was majorly freaked out. It is common for them to come in the house after rain, and we have been getting heaps of rain recently. Vicki put me down in the kitchen and just checked that yes, it was a Funnel Web. I kept looking at her and at then the spider, saying, "Look, look what I found!". I was very excited. So Vicki opened the front door and threw the rug that the spider was on, outside. She was very proud of me because she knew that I knew that she wouldn't have seen the spider and may have trodden on it. They are very poisonous and if you don't get treated, you will die from the bite. Go here for some more information on these spiders:

Watching TV

So I showed you all last week how I was watching South Park. I had a nice chuckle at your comments. But I just had to say that Huffle said she enjoyed watching Cricket!!! I have to share that I hate watching Cricket or Football because Paul yells at the television "Howzat" or "Get Him!" (depending on the Sport). I find it most disconcerting, and sometimes think he is yelling at me. Then Paul comes and finds me and apologises....

Note from Vicki: We never yell at Batu. We think this is a carryover from previous home(s).

Look how long I am.....

Vicki wanted to show you how long I am.....I would prbably be a metre long or more when I am all stretched out. Paul laughs when Vicki picks me up because I look so big in her arms!!! I have lost weight in my old age though. I used to be 5 kilograms but when Vicki took me to the V-E-T last week, I was only 4.6 kilograms.....

Thirsty Cat!

Vicki has been really worried about me 'cos I drink and drink and drink. I even get into the shower and drink. So when I started throwing up my dry food last week, off to the V-E-T I was dragged......

Well the V-E-T did all sorts of tests - blood, urine and poked and prodded me and apparently I am fine. I am just a pig who gorges his dry biscuits and then throws them back up again. I have been put on dry biscuit ration! I don't get more than 6 at a time!

So not bad for a 14 year old kitty! My kidneys are fine, my temperature is normal, I have no lumps in my abdomen and I just have to learn to eat a bit slower.....

PHEW!

What I loved about these replies is that everyone shared their secret "getting spoilt" behaviour! But it was Cheyenne-Millie from Millie's House who totally agreed with me about having servants.....

MOL!!! Who thought I really had a crocodile in my yard. 10 points to those of you recognised that it was a garden ornament.

When Vicki and Paul bought this house, the garden was really, really overgrown. It was like no one had looked after it for at least 10 years. They spent the first few years clearing weeds and uncovering rock gardens, flower beds, trees and then underneath rotting compost, Paul discovered this awesome rock pond! He hasn't worked out yet how to make it waterproof so the water actually stays in the pond, but we put the crocodile in there for effect. I like to keep him company occasionally.

As it was Election time in our Country, I asked everyone to think of the elections and then vote for what they believed in. Most voted for more treats. I totally agree with that one.....I loved the Cara n Crew comment who agreed with my Purrs for Peace mantra that I pointed out on the card and they thought I should live in California...do I look like an old hippy???? I don't even like Hippy Music!!! But that totally made me laugh so I had to share it with you....

Hi Everyone,

I know it has been quiet on my blog so I apologise for that and for not visiting. Vicki has been in hospital but is home now. She had a major haemorage - it could have even been a miscarriage. She is urging everyone - if they can - to donate blood as she used 4 bags of the precious stuff. Vicki promises to catch up with everyone very soon and visit all your blogs. She wants me to tell you that I have been very attentive and have even been accompanying Vicki to the bathroom - she got out of the shower yesterday and there I was waiting for her on the bathroom rug. I know how important it is for me to be with her at the moment.

Just to cheer you all up, here is a video Vicki recently saw on Facebook that she wanted to share with you....

Well do you always land on your feet? I have to admit I am a little bit of a klutz and have sometimes landed on my back - especially one time when I fell off the back deck. Luckily this card says it all, be ready for anything....so when I have made an embarrassing dismount, I quickly right myself and continue on my merry way as though it was all part of the strategy....and by doing that, yes, everything does work out!!!!

Wisdom....is wisdom like your shadow that follows you around? I have loads of intuition. I always know when Vicki is sick...I go and sit with her on the lounge and keep her company. She even found me in the bathroom one time keeping her company when she was having a midnight bath to relieve her pain. How switched on am I? I also know when Vicki and Paul are about to get home from work and I go and wait at the front gate for them.

I'll bet this is all about my visitor Friday night.....Vicki hosted a tiara and champagne party for her girlfriends to watch that Royal Wedding thing. Vicki's friend Lisa brought her puppy, a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Benjy, who was allowed in the house, and got to sit with the girls, and tried to be friends with me. I hissed three times to let Benjy know that he was in my house and I didn't want to be friends.....maybe that is what this is all about? Vicki will post some photos of the event later in the week.
