It must be Cricket season

Imagine my H O R R O R when I was sleeping peacefully on the lounge after dinner when I found myself rudely awoken from my slumber by Paul hitting a Cricket Bat. Apparently this is called priming the bat for play. It is too much. Paul is actually sitting in front of the television, watching cricket and so-called priming his bat!!!

I might have to find somewhere else to sleep peacefully.

My pink toesies

Vicki tried to take some photos of my paws to show you how the dust storm we had has coloured my white points. They were a pale orange and have now paled to a light pink. The camera flash is very strong and appears to have washed the colour out of my paws so they still look white - but what cute photos of me anyway.

Here I am relaxing on my bed that I graciously share with Vicki and Paul.

The Amazing Dust Storm

New South Wales - my part of Australia - had this A M A Z I N G dust storm on Wednesday. Apparently there was a huge dust storm from central Australia - around Lake Eyre - which could be seen from outer space it was so huge! Well, the wind was so big, it sent the dust all the way over to us! It was like waking up to an armageddon or alien invasion on Wednesday morning. Everything was bright orange with desert dust - including the sunlight!

I hated it. I stayed under the house most of the day - the dust really did not agree with me and it was so windy! Normally I love the wind, but not with that awful red dust in it. Anyway, my beautful white paws are still a very pale orange - I just can't get the colour out of them!

Paul thinks this is an accurate representation of how I wake him up each morning - do you think I would do this??????

I want to go outside!

Here is a typical pose for me waiting for the door to be magically opened for me. I go out this door every morning.

Thanks for your Wordless Wednesday comments. Yes, I hate the paparazzi so that was me being as photogenic as I could be without opening my eyes......

I hate sneezing!

With the change in weather, we are going from winter to spring, I get hayfever - all that pollen in the air!

And I hate it when I sneeze. I quite often come inside where it is nice and warm, do three quick sneezes and then I hiss! Here is a photo of me hissing after a sneeze.

Thanks for your good wishes

Vicki wanted me to thank you all for the good wishes while she was sick. She must be better now as she has gone back to work and we are not lying on the lounge together anymore.

More on whistling

Thanks for your comments about how you come when called - or what interests you......Skeeter left a funny comment about how she comes to Silent Night being whistled....that reminds me that Vicki whistles Waltzing Matlida (an Aussie folk song) and I absolutely hate it!!! I wake up if asleep, I meeouw loudly and then I eventually leave the room. I will get Vicki to capture it one time on her camera video one time for you all.

What's your call sign?

Apparently I am an unusual cat in that I come to a whistle. Vicki had never owned a cat before and refused to stand in the backyard and call out my name or "puss, puss" (the normal call sign to come home). As Vicki was more used to owning dogs, she found it very natural to call me in using a whistle.

I am very good, I can hear the whistle from miles away. I usually let Vicki know I am on my way home once I reach the property perimeter with either a very melancholic "M..r...ee..oow..." or I stop along the way and scratch my bells until they tinkle. She usually stops whistling then and starts encouraging me to come home quicker by calling my name, "Come on, that's it...I haven't got all night....".

When I am in the house I still come to a whistle...or the cupboard opening...or the fridge opening...or cans being opened...or chopping in the kitchen. After all, everything in the house revolves around me.

What do you guys come to? Names? Whistles? Puss? Anything else?

My week on the lounge...

While Vicki was sick I had a very important job to keep her company. I would lie on the lounge with her, follow her to the bathroom and very occasionally make her walk out to the laundry for some fresh air to give me some treats.

I took my job very seriously and reported to Paul every night when he got home what we had been up to and if Vicki felt better or worse (mostly worse....)

Vicki is sick....

I dunno what is wrong with her but she has not moved off the lounge for a week! I apologise that she has fallen down in the blogging department. But I have loved her being at home so I can snuggle on the lounge with her.....

I think Vicki said something along the lines of she will get back to blogging on the weekend - catch up with you all then!
