Goodbye Batu - thanks for the memories

Paul & I had to make the hard decision to assist Batu over the Rainbow Bridge.  He had 2 seizures that we know of and that left him paralysed in the back end so we were having to assist him to use his kitty litter and eat.  We didn't think that was a very dignified end for him.

Thanks for following and commenting on Batu's blog.  He will leave a huge hole in our hearts and life as he was a larger than life character.

To remind you what a character he was, here are some of my favourite blog posts:

Football night

Paul hosts football night for the State of Origin (click here for more information), where 2 different states of Australia - Queensland & New South wales - play each other, three times a year.  Its a big thing!!!

I have been a regular participant in these footy nights.  Paul was worried with me not feeling well that I wouldnt want to hang with the boys - as if!!!

I spent all of the first half with them.  Here is me getting a pat from Dave.
I did go and have a sleep for the second half - all that socialising is tiring!!

Sunshine heals everything

Because I insist on sitting outside in the sun, Vicki bought me a new bed that is now on the picnic table outside on the back verandah.

Here I am testing it out and soaking up the sun beams!

So I have been sick :(

Poor Vicki found me have a very violent seizure!  After some blood tests, it turns out I have Pancreatitis.  So now I am on a very special diet - low fat!  Lots of chicken breast.  And no more special treats like Big Mac sauce or licking the leftover cream!

Here is some more information on Pancratitis:

Commemoration of ANZAC Day - 100 years

ANZAC Centenary

The ANZAC Centenary (from 2014 to 2018) commemorates Australia’s involvement in World War I and remembers anyone who has served in a war or conflict as well as those men and women still serving in the Defence Forces today.

It was on 1 November 1914 that the first convoy of Australian and New Zealand ships left Albany in Western Australia to transport the ANZACs to the battlefields of World War I.

When most people think of the ANZACs, they think about the landing at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. The 100th anniversary of this moment will be commemorated with an ANZAC Day long weekend in Australia and many other events around the world.

Perhaps the largest event will be the traditional Dawn Service at Gallipoli. 8000 Australians, 2000 New Zealanders and 500 official representatives from other Nations will form a 10,500 strong crowd on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey.

Here is a song that captures the 100 year commemoration.

Big Mac Sauce

For a limited time, McDonalds was selling the Big Mac sauce separately in little sachets.

Paul loves his Big Macs and drowned them in the sauce.

....and I got to have some too - YUMMY!

I love sleeping

I sleep a lot these days...here is one of my favourite spots.  Vicki & Paul call it my time-out bed.  They know not to disturb me if I have taken myself off to sleep here.....
