So Vicki came across some research about cat purrs. I am not a huge purrer - but I have become more frequent as I have aged. And I only ever purr when very, very content - lying in bed, lying on the lounge, getting a gorgeous neck rub - you know the drill.
Vicki found this research interesting because it talks about 2 types of purrs:
- Solicitation purr
- Non-Solicitation purr
I must do a non-solicitation purr all the time as Vicki had never heard the urgency of the solicitation purr. It is quite a different sound. Have a listen here:
Hmm, we don't purr like that solicitation one. Heck, we don't need to...One of us here (Nicki) just "screams" at the mom for food, or to get up out of bed, etc. :-P
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm, that might explain a lot!
ReplyDeleteHey Batu!
ReplyDeleteDunno...but Mama said I snore when I thought I purrr... Can purrs sound like snores? purrr....meow!
We don't really do the solicitation purr, but we sure do talk up a storm when we want something. :)
ReplyDelete- Moosey and Sammy
interesting! Smidgen does the solicitation purr alot. the rest of us mostly do the non-solicitaion purr. mom's going to have to pay better attention now :)
