Football night
Paul hosts football night for the State of Origin (click here for more information), where 2 different states of Australia - Queensland & New South wales - play each other, three times a year. Its a big thing!!!
I have been a regular participant in these footy nights. Paul was worried with me not feeling well that I wouldnt want to hang with the boys - as if!!!
I spent all of the first half with them. Here is me getting a pat from Dave.
I did go and have a sleep for the second half - all that socialising is tiring!!

So I have been sick :(
Poor Vicki found me have a very violent seizure! After some blood tests, it turns out I have Pancreatitis. So now I am on a very special diet - low fat! Lots of chicken breast. And no more special treats like Big Mac sauce or licking the leftover cream!
Here is some more information on Pancratitis:

Commemoration of ANZAC Day - 100 years
ANZAC Centenary
The ANZAC Centenary (from 2014 to 2018) commemorates Australia’s involvement in World War I and remembers anyone who has served in a war or conflict as well as those men and women still serving in the Defence Forces today.
It was on 1 November 1914 that the first convoy of Australian and New Zealand ships left Albany in Western Australia to transport the ANZACs to the battlefields of World War I.
When most people think of the ANZACs, they think about the landing at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. The 100th anniversary of this moment will be commemorated with an ANZAC Day long weekend in Australia and many other events around the world.
Perhaps the largest event will be the traditional Dawn Service at Gallipoli. 8000 Australians, 2000 New Zealanders and 500 official representatives from other Nations will form a 10,500 strong crowd on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey.
Here is a song that captures the 100 year commemoration.

Big Mac Sauce
For a limited time, McDonalds was selling the Big Mac sauce separately in little sachets.
Paul loves his Big Macs and drowned them in the sauce.

Merry Christmas!
Last year, Vicki bought a new Christmas tree this year. She said she bought one that she thought was very stylish and would match our dark lounge room decor.
When it arrived she asked Paul and me to help me put it together and check the lights were working. When Vicki asked Paul what he thought of the new tree, he said, "looks really cool....it's a bushfire Christmas tree".
Yes folks, our new black, stylish Christmas tree will be forever known as the "bushfire Christmas tree".
Merry Christmas!!!!

Keeping guard
One of my favourite spots to sit is with my dragon by the front door. Sometimes, when I hide with the dragon, no one can see me....
My dragon protects me when I have a little snooze
Here I am hiding
Do you have a favourite spot to hide?

Fires near me
We live in the beautiful Blue Mountains which is just 100km west of Sydney. We are sometimes called the "lungs of Sydney". But all our beautiful native landscape comes at a price as we are prone to out of control bushfires.
Visit the Blue Mountains
The last one happened on the first weekend in November. It was in a valley only 5kms from us. It was unlikely to come our way but you never know where embers will end up on a windy day!
One house was lost when the fire snuck up the cliff face and the wind took over. It is always really devastating when someone's house is taken.
Blue Mountains Gazette
Last year, at around the same time of year, we had 2 separate bushfires burning - one was down the mountain closer to Sydney and it took 200 houses in less than 3 hours - it was devastating! And then there was another one burning futher up the mountains from us - about 15kms away. Vicki was so nervous of one of the windy days that I got to go to work with her! There were lots of other cats (and dogs) at work that day....
Bushfires 1 year ago
Here are some photos of me in Vicki's office:
In my cat carrier:
Then I got let out and sat at Vicki's feet. I knew I had to behave.
Do you ever get to go to work?
I know Vicki checks the Fires Near Me app for constant updates over Summer.

Some more comprehensive cat rules.....
I found some more comprehensive cat rules - click on the link below.
I still prefer the ones I posted last week - they are easy and what I do all the time. These ones, I would have to think about more:
Here is me sitting on the end of the bed waiting for Paul to come home - I can look out the window and see him walk past to the front door if I do this. I sometimes fall asleep in this pose waiting for him....

Me and my comfy new basket lining
I have a basket by the front door that I love sitting in and watching the world go by. I can see everyone arrive at the front door, leave parcels, leave the house and just generally wander around the yard - all from the comfort of a basket.
The lining had become worn out, so I was delighted when Vicki recovered it all for me and look at the lovely fabric - purple and black cats...looks a bit halloween-like!
Here I am testing it out for the first time...
Yes, very comfy
